Artigos Indefinidos: onde usar ‘A’ e ‘AN’

Hello everybody! Tudo certo? Hoje vamos falar sobre o artigo indefinido do inglês. O ‘A’ (ou ‘AN’) corresponde ao um (ou uma) no português. Não há diferença nenhuma quanto ao significado, apenas quanto ao uso. A diferença entre eles é que ‘AN’ é usado à frente de palavras que começam com vogal, ou som de vogal.
Veja os exemplos: 
an old house (uma casa velha) – a good machine (uma máquina boa)
an hour (uma hora) - a day (um dia)
Mas atenção! Apesar das letras Y e W soarem como vogais para nós, usa-se ‘A’ (e não ‘AN’) à frente de palavras que começam com essas letras. Como nos exemplos: a woman (uma mulher) – a year (um ano)
